To ensure you have the best experience, we are always happy to talk through your planned ski or snowboard lesson to ensure that it’s right for you. It is ultimately your responsibility to make sure that for lessons you book, yourself and others in your party are of a similar ability. Where we think it is necessary to ensure that you will get the most out of your lesson(s), we may have to split your lesson(s) where possible. For example, a 2hr lesson booking split into 2 x 1hr sessions for the different abilities.
The customer acknowledges that Ski With Ease uses the contracted services of selected independent self-employed professional instructors who are are solely and entirely responsible for providing the Ski/Snowboard lessons as described on the Ski With Ease website, instructors are qualified through their governing body. Their professional membership of these organisations either includes insurance to provide the services or they have their own liability insurance in place. When under their care your contract is directly with them. Should you be involved in a dispute that involves the need for insurance, this will be directly with the organisation that provides their insurance, not the Ski With Ease Insurance providers.
By booking a Ski With Ease lesson or a course of lessons you will be taking advantage of a huge wealth of experience and expertise. The instructors who work on behalf of Ski With Ease / Board With Ease are highly skilled at developing confidence and performance skills as described on our website, our select instructors are well trained in the safety aspects for the mountain activities and services sold and can advise, help, and lead you. It is known that accidents do happen as part of snowsports, and skiing and snowboarding involves an element of risk, which you must accept as inherent to snowsports. You must take responsibility for your own actions and decisions when on the mountain either by yourself or with your instructor. By booking sessions with Ski With Ease / Board With Ease you will be accepting the risk involved and accepting that an accident may happen. You will also be responsible for deciding to take part in any activity whether an exercise, a particular technique, a particular slope, skiing a particular speed or skiing particular snow textures. The instructors working on behalf of Ski With Ease / Board With Ease cannot be held responsible for accidents and your actions. If at any point you wish not to take part in an activity for any reason then you must let the instructor know immediately.
Modifications of Services:
Modifications can be made more than 30 days before start of services subject to availability of instructors, any additional costs will be disclosed to the customer for consent. Given the organisation and planning required to provide our services, any service modifications within 30 days prior to start of service will be entirely at our discretion.
Pricing may be modified without notice in the event of rate increases imposed by suppliers, or in the event of economic disruption. These price adjustments shall not apply to contracts already signed with the customer.
Ski With Ease Ski School / Board With Ease does not insure its clients, it is a condition of this agreement that you are obliged to insure yourself for third party liability for all events arising from and/or connected with your lessons and we recommend that you arrange an appropriate policy that includes but is not limited to: personal, medical and rescue insurance, via a licensed agent. It is our assumption you will have this when attending lessons.
Ski With Ease / Board With Ease will not be liable to ‘front’ or cover any medical, rescue, 3rd party costs or any other costs that may arise through our professional decision to action items listed in section ‘Consent to Medical Treatment’ through failure to be adequately insured on your part.
It is important that you read carefully and understand your chosen policy and ensure it covers all your wants and needs. Skiing and snowboarding do entail risks, as a result many insurance policies do require you to wear a helmet on the slopes regardless of local legal requirements, or risk voiding the policy. Ski With Ease highly recommends that all participants wear helmets regadless of age, in and out of our lessons.
In the course of lessons Instructors may ski outside the piste markers or enter play parks or zone where they deem it safe to do so and your insurance cover should provide for this. For off-piste specific lessons, avalanche safety packs are required and a comprehensive insurance covering this should be taken.
We recommend adding cancellation cover for Covid-19 and pandemic related events (that are not covered in our Covid-19 section below), in addition to your general travel insurance, that includes lesson and booking fees.
Snow Insurance/Lift Closure Cover:
It is important to note that neither Ski With Ease nor the instructors shall be held liable for the fact of “too much” or “insufficient” snow and lift closures due to a multitude of events outside of our control. In such an event(s) you shall not be entitled to compensation, discount or reimbursement for services paid. If desired, the customer should ensure that their policy includes “snow insurance cover”; “lift closure cover” or takes out additional cover.
Travelling to Other Portes du Soleil Resorts due to Lift Closure or Poor Conditions:
Ski With Ease / Board With Ease cannot accept responsibility for snow and weather conditions or lift closures in your resort that may affect your sessions. You may be offered your lessons in another nearby Portes du Soleil resort with superior conditions. The costs of travelling to and from these resorts will need to be paid by each client including lift pass upgrades. The instructor will evaluate and inform you and Ski With Ease whether to travel to other resort(s), should you choose not to do so you will forfeit the fee paid for that session(s). If the instructor makes a decision by reason of safety as to the unsuitibiltiy of snow conditions, this is final.
We have adapted our sales conditions in the event that lessons are cancelled due to circumstances related to COVID-19. These conditions are over and above our standard cancellation policy. You must comply with all current local and national safety protocols. If you are unable to take your lessons for either of the two reasons stated below, you will receive a refund on all unused lessons, less a 20% booking charge:
⦁ If the ski infrastructure is forced to close by administrative order of the French government due to COVID-19 or any other pandemic.
⦁ If you have been unable to travel due to official advice against travel to France from your country of origin or the French government.
In all other circumstances our standard cancellation policy (above) applies, if you cancel your booking / lessons due to any other COVID-19 related event. We would recommend adding cancellation cover to general travel insurance for any Covid-19 related events that are not covered in this section to include lesson and booking fees.
